A few minutes by car or public transport allows residents to take advantage of even wider choice by visiting neighboring suburbs, tourist facilities such as beach-side restaurants and regional shopping malls.

Two regional shopping malls, five to ten minutes away by car, are star shopping destinations. The Southland Regional Shopping Centre (above) which straddles the Nepean Highway at Cheltenham, and the Direct Factory Outlet (DFO) (below) Cheltenham, adjacent to Moorabbin Airport, bring the best in department store, boutique, small store and discount shopping to the area. Top labels from around the world are found here alongside Australia's own vibrant production in every form of merchandise. In addition, Southland is home to a cluster of cinemas.
